Rabbit Control Methods Include:
- Ferreting – this is an extremely effective way of catching large amounts of rabbits if carried out methodically and professionaly. Selectively bred ferrets are used to flush rabbits out of their undergroung tunnel network into well placed purse and long nets, well trained dogs are always ready in case one manages to kick out of a net.
- Cage Traps – These can be really usefull when set correctly in certain situations such as rabbits migrating from neighbouring property.
- Shooting – Trained and experienced marksmen use various calibre rifles and shotguns with great success where it is safe to do so and does not cause a nuisance or alarm. Shooting can be carried at at night or during the day, it can also be used with ferrets.
- Lamping – Lamping with trained dogs is a highly effective way of systematically removeing rabbits from areas where other methods may be undesirable or as a supplement to other methods.
